Larry Finley comes to Terra Nova with more than eighteen years combined experience in landscape design, maintenance, nursery production, and sales. Larry has lived in several different states during his professional working career, giving him valuable insight on the performance of the Terra Nova plants he sells. In Texas, Larry designed, installed, and maintained numerous landscapes to pay his way through college. In California, he worked for Walt Disney at Disneyland’s Queen Mary Spruce Goose Facilities. During the 1996 Olympics he created several landscape designs which were featured in various locations during the games! Larry has also spent time working with a four star resort in its landscape design and maintenance division. As well as being an exceptional Terra Nova salesman and horticultural advisor, Larry also runs a small nursery business called Best In Plants where he grows and sells a variety of rare plant material at several local farmer markets!

Erik Petersen joined Terra Nova with a wealth experience from more than 12 years of work in the horticulture industry. Prior to working in the sales department Erik attended Temple University in Pennsylvania where he earned his BS degree in Ornamental Horticulture, while at the same time running his own business, Chimera Horticultural Services. His horticultural career started by working in the historic Bahai gardens in Israel. From there he went on to the world-renowned Longwood Gardens where he studied for two years in their Professional Gardener Training Program. Upon completion of the program he worked for the Delaware Center for Horticulture for several years where he managed their public landscape projects and the center grounds. Somewhere in between all the craziness and excitement he found time to do an internship at Shortwood Gardens, the private garden of Perennial Diva Stephanie Cohen. A self-proclaimed plant geek and nut, Erik is always on the lookout for the rare and the unusual when it comes to plants.

Jennifer Lever is our newest member of the sales department, joining Terra Nova in January of 2007. Jen comes to us with a diverse background in all things historical, and is our resident wordmaster. She holds master's degrees in both Archaeology and Secondary Education, but is finally getting a chance to pursue her true love of growing and sharing intriguing new perennial plants. Jen also spent 7 years working for Barnes and Noble Booksellers as a store manager, where she excelled at buying, merchandising, and getting the right book in the customer’s hands. When not seeking out the newest and hottest plants to recommend to friends and customers, she enjoys spending time in her own eclectic ½ acre garden, as well as having a lot of fun coaching local high school javelin throwers. Jen lives with her non-plant-geek husband of 12 years, 9-year-old “chef-in-training” son, 3 moody cats, a coop of chickens, and 2 very large hunting dogs.

Webmaster, Marketing
|
Josh Blair joined the Terra Nova sales team in 2004 after graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Journalism, Business and Computer Information Technology. During his college tenure he interned for Clear Channel Broadcasting, which then led to a full time position as webmaster, engineer and mobile DJ. Upon moving back to Portland in 2004, he began his horticultural career at Home Depot as a salesman in their garden division where he interacted with fellow gardeners on a daily business. Josh was then approached about a full-time sales position at Terra Nova where he has since thrived! Recently, Terra Nova has had the privilege to tap into his vast internet/computer knowledge and Josh is now responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining our new Terra Nova web site along with implementing Terra Nova’s various marketing strategies. After getting married in 2005 and buying a new home, he has come to discover that Oregon is the best place to live and work! Some of his other interests include snowboarding and visiting the beautiful Pacific coast beaches. |
